The UI/UX Senior Designer will leverage deep business, design, copy, content and creative expertise to partner with internal digital teams, corporate and business unit stakeholders to translate customer focused strategies into digital experiences.  The digital team is responsible for the evolution of our digital customer experience, and sharing the Simplot story with our customers guiding its development with best practices and providing expert guidance and advisory support to our internal stakeholders.  Helping to steer the overall creative and experience strategy, development and editorial process from research and concept creation, you’ll develop strong partnership with our business units and internal teams to bring ideas to reality.  

The ideal candidate works with purpose, can quickly discern the needs of a project and responds to creative briefs with fresh ideas and business-aligned (and sometimes disruptive) approaches.  We’re seeking a motivated, design thinker who puts the customer first through an empathetic approach.  The digital creative lead should have experience working across multiple marketing channels and understand the complexities and creative implications of a global brand.

Collaborative problem solving with strong bias for action and an entrepreneurial spirit is essential.  To thrive in this position, we need a team player who is comfortable leading brainstorms and collaborating with a cross functional digital experience team, as well as working with internal teams from business and corporate teams to deliver a strong customer experience across our digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solve Problems Through Internal Collaboration: Learn about the diverse Simplot corporate and business teams to aid in creating designs, flows and models, and engaging copy / content that connect with customers and employees. Impart this knowledge in building experiences that resonate and engage.
  • Create and Design the Digital Experience: The ideation and design of signature experiences that deliver rich, seamless connections within our digital channels (web, social, paid-advertising, events, mobile).
  • Develop Guidelines & Standards: Assist in implementing a comprehensive content strategy and design system that works well in the Simplot environment. Develop rules for how core assets and templates are leveraged.  Establish work flow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content.
  • Drive Experience Consistency:  Provide feedback and direction to design and marketing teams to ensure intuitive and innovative solutions that follow established design principles, guidelines and patterns.
  • Guide, Mentor and Inspire:  Work with others in the team, keeping up with the design industry evolution including best practices, new trends and technologies.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

5+ years related experience and/or training

Other Information

•    Background in HCI, Design, or a related field
•    Strong knowledge of visual design, interactive design, brand development and experience design
•    Experience in telling a story using words, images, audio, and video, and an understanding of how to create content that draws a digital audience
•    Excellent communication, writing, presentation, and organizational skills
•    Ability to quickly and efficiently deliver messages to large groups of users
•    A process-oriented approach to content governance and content creation in phases including goal setting, research, planning, writing, quality assurance, publishing, evaluation, optimization, and lifecycle management
•    Working understanding of digital analytics, with experience generating and interpreting data
•    Solid understanding of photography, illustration, layout, typography, and logo development
