The SmartFarm Manager is responsible for leading the business unit SmartFarm team and working closely with sales, operations, product management, and customer experience to ensure strategic alignment across all functions in driving sales process, adoption of technology, and supporting various digital initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads the deployment and adoption of new digital sales tools and precision ag technologies with a given region
  • Sell and support SGS precision ag solutions, such as crop plans, soil and tissue sampling, fertilizer recommendations, variable rate seed prescriptions, etc.
  • Lead grower and sales meetings on the overall benefits of precision technology
  • Gather requirements and develop business cases for platform director supporting product roadmap decisions
  • Responsible for aspects of training and adoption programs for all sales tools, including but not limited to sell sheets, training content creation, and instructor-led sales training
  • Responsible for tracking and analysis and implementation of key performance indicators for adoption and usage of key technologies
  • Supports the buying and selling processes at all stages, from lead generation through invoicing and crop plans through harvest
  • Manages various digital and sales enablement projects and coordinates sales enablement activities
Typical Education
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
Relevant Experience
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training
Other Information
  • Must have strong working knowledge in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), precision agriculture, soil fertility, plant nutrition, pest management, irrigation managements.
  • Ability to assimilate information from disparate sources and integrate that into a strategy and executional tactics is critical. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others effectively.
  • Able to develop strong relationships externally and internally.
  • Able to sell ideas and a project vision.
  • Analytical ability to dive into data to construct recommendations and decisions about a specific products and technologies on a strategic level. 
  • Extensive knowledge of SmartFarm products and services, including the complex SmartFarm offerings within the multiple SGS areas.
  • Supervisory experience and skills preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, formal presentation skills, ability to make site-specific input recommendations, ability to display work in writing and statistics, ability to interpret research data and to make reasonable recommendations.
  • Conduct independent research.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities at once.
  • In addition, this position requires demonstration of technical learning, functional technical skills, action-oriented skills, and integrity and trust.
  • Must be able to influence a large customer base to drive increased sales in the SGS areas. 
  • Secondary language is desirable.
