Responsible for the management and distribution of Variable Pay Plans for the J.R. Simplot Company utilizing a SAP Cloud Commission tool (MyVariableComp) globally.  Works closely with Business Leadership, Finance and HR to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of pay plan design and delivery to eligible employees.


In addition to Variable Pay will be supporting other compensation programs across the organization providing partnership and support for those that need it.


Preference for individual to be in Boise HQ but will consider candidates in other states as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • SAP Cloud Commission SME – owning the end-to-end process of system capability.  Ensuring accuracy of plan information, summaries, acknowledgements, schedules with distribution of materials in a timely fashion.  Ensuring a regular and appropriate cadence with a very clear calendar/schedule for each pay plan with regular updates to systems, leadership, employees, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Conduct and lead market research, analysis, reporting and benchmarking to provide Business Leads with information pertinent to support with plan design ensuring plans drive appropriate behaviors, enable growth in profit and/or market share and are fully compliant in the region of operation.  Must be able to utilize research and experience to influence decisions across the organization.

  • Ability to coach and partner with all levels of the organization on compensation practices globally (both fixed and variable).

  • Capable of providing project leadership, influence and decision making to ensure effective delivery of compensation programs.

  • Plan Compliance & Governance: Ensures plans remain compliant with all regulations and monitors new regulation and recommends appropriate action. Serves as liaison with attorney support and consulting houses. Advises leadership regarding compliance requirements. Provides oversight and ensures all plan documents (including Summary Plan Description booklets) are current and distributed timely.   Lead audit efforts as necessary.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university in Finance, Business or Human Resources

Relevant Experience

  • 5+ years related experience and/or training
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables, macros and csv table uploads
  • CCP required or willingness to to obtain
  • Ability to manage up with influence at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in ta timely manner
  • Experience with SAP Cloud Commission is a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate professionally in both verbal and written forms
  • Ability to self-manage and adapt to changes, delays or unexpected shits in priorities while maintaining focus and productivity
  • Ability to work flexible scheduled as needed
