Sales Planner/Sales Operations (South Zone)

The Zone Sales Planner works to support the achievement of annual sales, volume and margin objectives, by ensuring the corresponding sales teams within the zone have the necessary planning support to most effectively and efficiently reach and influence assigned customers and targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment of Local Market Plans customized for each field sales associate and key account manager in the assigned Zone; refresh each plan on 6-month intervals.
  • Create relevant and corresponding LMPs for broker markets.
  • Ensure each plan is consistent with the business and category strategies and specific sales initiatives (e.g., commercial chains, non-commercial initiatives, priority segments, and corporate account key initiatives).
  • Coordinate and manage monthly Zone governance (i.e., analyze, collect, process and prep for review).
  • Coordinate, collect, and provide analysis for general Zone execution including, but not limited to, CRM metrics, SIP tracking, NPD execution, etc.).
  • Ensure maximum use of sale automation and corresponding technologies including CRM, SDS, Blacksmith, etc.
  • Be the conduit for all broad-based field sales related communications.
  • Provide support for field sales forecasting and revenue/promotions tracking.
  • Provide field sales input to marketing for the development of relevant marketing programs and initiatives for operators and distributors.
  • Provide assigned sales teams with corresponding contract compliance and price program support.


Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Other Information

  • Sales experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Must have strong partnering skills, with the ability to effectively influence peers as well as more senior sales professionals.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, as well as strong organization skills required. Interest and ability to move into a more senior sales leadership role, which would likely require geographic relocation.
