SAP Functional Analyst (CFIN)

This journey is based on a “green field” approach to implementing SAP S/4 HANA as the core enabler for this transformation.  The SAP Practice at Simplot is responsible for creating solutions within the new S/4 HANA landscape to support our company’s dynamic global needs.  Each team member will contribute to building solutions by utilizing the vast array of SAP products to support our business objectives.

The functional analyst role to support our SAP Central Finance (CFIN) implementation requires knowledge of the finance business functions, particularly group reporting and treasury, and the Finance-related configuration in SAP S/4 HANA. While this is an SAP functional role, there is more emphasis on the Finance business functions and overall reporting from the CFIN application.

The CFIN implementation is a strategic function for the JR Simplot Company consolidating all financials from disparate ERPs across the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to the business team members who leverage the Central Finance functionality by responding to requests for enhancements and fixes for defects
• Gather and document requirements for requested changes to CFIN, including but not limited to Group Reporting and Treasury functions
• Write functional specifications for development work related to changes need for Central Finance functionality
• Configure and transport changes in SAP related to Central Finance functionality
• Provide knowledge sharing to peers and other key technical stakeholders
• Maintain an understanding of the IT environment, including finance software, ERP platforms, application development, and related internal control practices to ensure compliance with information management-related policies and procedures
• Responsible for driving continuous improvements and innovation in the Central Finance space

Typical Education

• Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
• CPA Desired but not required

Relevant Experience

• 3+ Years of proven experience as an SAP Functional Analyst in relation to Record to Report focusing on Group Reporting, Treasury, or Central Finance processes and underlying SAP capabilities or 7+ years as a finance professional is required
• Proven knowledge of the SAP Fiori elements and how to drive standardization and re-utilization of elements to adhere to Clean Core guidelines
• Prepare Technical and Functional Specifications for Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements Forms, Workflows objects (RICEFW) related to SAP and CFIN.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban is required.
• The ideal candidate should have a good Finance IT background with a good understanding of Group Reporting and Treasury.
• Excellent troubleshooting and verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Good understanding of standards, guidelines, and best practices to be used during development is required.
