Provides customer service to growers through the sale of both Innvictis Seed and national brand seed. Partners with Crop Advisors, Market Managers, Regional Managers, Senior Account Managers and seed suppliers to develop and implement collaborative approaches that maximize and grow the seed business throughout the region. Provides sales and marketing training, leadership, direction, and management across an agronomic growing area or within specifically designated key strategic geographies for Simplot Grower Solutions

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage a strong knowledge of the seed industry and strategic direction of Simplot Grower Solutions to grow both Innvictis Seed and national brand seed business

  • Develop and execute sales and marketing programs, information, and tools that aid the selling effort in the field. This includes, but not limited to, seed marketing plan, estimate product demand, set sales goals, and manage seed product portfolio. Business planning for growth is key.

  • Influence, motivate, and strengthen relationships with field sales, local management, customers and industry. Promote SGS seed product offerings. Communicate with field sales and management regarding market activity. Evaluate effectiveness of field sales effort and identify areas for improvement.

  • Serves as role model, teacher and coach to Crop Advisors and Market Managers, including direct sales and customer responsiveness in support of the SGS seed business.

  • Identify customer and prospect opportunities and establish a plan to capitalize on these opportunities by setting and meeting and growing sales targets.

  • Maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge in seed products and service in assigned area. Coach Crop Advisors to enhance seed selling activities. Lead efforts to differentiate SGS seed offering and services from competitors and build relationships with customers.

  • Facilitates and schedules necessary product and program training for Crop Advisors to meet seed sales performance objectives. Facilitate and schedule seed and seed technology education and sales training for field sales personnel. Works together and independently of seed vendors to ensure field sales personnel are equipped with skills and product knowledge to be successful.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

  • 5+ years related experience and/or training
  • Computer skills include knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to recruit new seed crop advisors as well as train and develop existing crop advisors on growing and developing the SGS seed business.
  • Demonstrated focus on meeting customer expectations and working to deliver excellent customer service
  • Strong leadership and ability to manage and lead a team of personnel
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with management, other team members, and customers
  • Must be self-driven, self-motivated, and customer service-oriented, while being an effective team player
