Project Manager (Sales Solutions)

The Project Manager (Sales Solutions) will oversee and ensure implementation of new product development projects. The position will be heavily focused on new product development, customer-centric projects, and continuous process optimization. This role will work closely with all areas of the business. This role requires project management and leadership skills, demonstrated by the ability to influence and lead within a rapidly evolving and cross-functional environment. The candidate should be experienced and well-grounded in the fundamental principles as they pertain to project management of commercializing projects.

The Project Manager will lead a cross-functional team whose emphasis will be on delivering projects on-time across a variety of product types and complexities. They will also be accountable for building project plans, aligning partners, managing the timeline, communicating frequently to key stakeholders, and driving overall team accountability. 

This role interfaces with and influences senior level leaders within the organization daily. This position will be in constant contact with: Director Production Planning & Inventory Control, Director National Account Sales, Director of Demand Planning, Business Partnering Manager, Director of Portfolio Development, Director of Research & Development, Plant Operations, and many more. Critical thinking, problem solving, time management and ability to tolerate stress are key competencies for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and lead projects as aligned to the Food Group strategy
  • Drive accountability among cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are achieved
  • Serve as point of contact for assigned projects
  • Make effective and thought-out decisions when presented with options on how to progress a project
  • Effectively communicate regular project status updates to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Understand task dependencies and how they relate to other steps in the new product development process
  • Manage multiple, highly visible, projects concurrently
  • Execute assigned NPD projects according to the company’s stage-gate process.
  • Present projects at gate reviews to senior leadership to assess project progress, share identified risks and action plans created, and gain approval to continue using resources to keep projects moving forward.
  • Follow-up on action items from gate review and keeps team informed of discussions and decisions made by senior leadership.
  • Define and manage product requirements in collaboration with the sales, customers and other stakeholders.

Typical Education
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
Relevant Experience

3+ years related experience and/or training

Required Certifications

Certification in project management, Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing and related will be a plus.
