Product Marketing Manager or Sr. Product Marketing Manager (Boise, ID)

Summary

The Product  Marketing Manager/Sr. Marketing Manager is primarily responsible for the development of short and long-term category plans that drive growth for the brand and overall category.  They will own the product lifecycle management for those products.  And through effectively partnering with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, R&D, and Manufacturing Operation teams, will lead and execute the strategic plan aligned to business objectives.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive, manage and accountable for a category strategy and the product lifecycle management of assigned brands including product inception/ideation, product commercialization,  brand consolidation, line extensions, SKU rationalization, product optimizations, and cost management.
  • Successfully collaborate and lead cross functional teams
  • Utilize data and research to develop insights and create category plans and tactics
  • Conduct market visits with Simplot Sales team to drive alignment with customer strategy, understand the customer and validate category effectiveness and opportunities
  • Manage assigned annual marketing budget for maximum return on investment
  • Successfully manage competing priorities to deliver profitability on plans, competing priorities and projects at a time

Typical Education

Marketing Manager:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing strongly preferred, Business or equivalent from 4-year college or university required; MBA preferred
  • 4+ years experience with foodservice marketing experience preferred 

Sr. Marketing Manager:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing strongly preferred, Business or equivalent from 4-year college or university required; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years experience with foodservice marketing experience preferred. Strong preference for previous Product Category experience. 

Other Information

  • Ability to travel 25% of time including travel to conferences, customer meetings and facilities in North America
  • Demonstrated ability to develop cross-functional relationships
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applying marketing principles to marketing strategies
  • Proven business acumen skills with ability to understand P&L financials and turn data into actionable insights
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and proven ability to successfully multi-task and manage unexpected demands of daily activities, multiple priorities and projects at a time
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid project management skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs
