Internal Audit Intern

Summary

The Internal Audit Intern will work within Simplot’s Global Services. They will support the audit team and contribute to the continuous improvement and effectiveness of the internal audit function. This internship will start in January and the incumbent will work a flexible schedule around 20 hours a week and will work 40 hours a week during the Summer. 

Key Responsibilities

• Performance and documentation of internal audit compliance, financial, or process audit projects.
• Applying fundamental concepts, practices and procedures, and analytical skills to internal audit projects.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Gathering and analyzing financial data to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
• Testing Controls: Participating in testing internal controls to ensure they are effective and compliant with regulations.
• Communication: Communicating with audit team and other departments to gather necessary information.
• Administrative Support: Performing administrative tasks such as maintaining/archiving audit files, updating workbooks, reviewing/refreshing data analytics models.

Typical Education

Student currently working towards a finance, accounting, or business degree (others to be considered) having at least junior status with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Other Information

• Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization is important. 
• Ability to utilize Power BI to analyze data and document results is a plus. 
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment.
