This role is responsible for executing day-to-day support for Human Resources to include: HRIS data input and maintenance, employee files, time and attendance record keeping, disability programs, health benefits, recruiting, new hire orientation and testing, service awards, and special events. May conduct research within well-defined parameters and compile statistical data for management's use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completes HRIS data input for new hires, job transfers, promotions, address changes, terminations, retirements, benefit changes and other HR-related changes. Maintains accuracy of all HRIS data. Completes all required record keeping and maintains personnel records and HR forms and files. Interacts with Payroll on pay issues, deductions (child support, garnishments), transfers, promotions and demotions.   
  • Assists with administration of transitional return to work, FMLA and STD programs. Enters and balances payroll for all hourly employees. Maintains employee vacation and absentee records.        
  • Assists with new employee orientation, including benefits and handbook orientation. Prepares open enrollment packets and follows up on required information from employees. Handles unemployment and verification of employment requests. Coordinates drug testing. Coordinates and orders service awards. Assists with organizing special events and training.    
  • May pre-screens applicants for minimum qualifications, participates in interviews for hourly/non-exempt positions and represents Company at job/career fairs independently. Coordinates reference and background checks for all candidates selected for an interview. Schedules interviews and creates interview packets. Searches web sites and databases (external and internal) for top talent. Maintains employment information in database. Completes required job file documentation. Coordinates temporary staffing and reconciles vendor invoices. 
  • May assist with annual and quarterly EEO/Affirmative Action Process  and  other projects as assigned.                                                                     

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree

Relevant Experience

6+ months related experience and/or training

Other Information

HRIS system experience preferred, specifically Kronos and Lawson.
