The Global Solutions Owner is responsible, within assigned process areas, for developing capability road maps for all solution sets aligned to both BU strategies and Global solutions strategies.  They are accountable for calculating, budgeting and optimizing the total cost of ownership for solution sets and working with Business Relationship Managers,  Business Units and other Global solutions teams to scope, estimate and build project proposals to secure required capital to deliver roadmaps.  They also own the outcome of projects implemented to ensure business value is achieved (but are not part of the project delivery team).  They are continually managing and measuring effectiveness of solution sets including business value, user adoption, continuous improvement.


The portfolio areas will follow the Simplot process model, including the following:

  • Forecast to Schedule
  • Make to Deploy
  • Source to Pay
  • Order to Cash
  • Record to Report

Responsibility areas will be dynamic based on the business need and team member skills and backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

Capability Road Maps 
•    Partner with business stakeholders and Global Solutions teams to develop 3-year capability road maps across a process area 
•    Form and launch cross functional teams for each roadmap consolidating inputs from EA, BUs, vendor roadmaps and industry leading practice


Develop project proposals 
•    Lead the quantitative and qualitative assessment to justify the new capabilities required 
•    Convert road maps (1-2 years) into actionable project proposals ready for capital allocation and handover to Delivery teams 
•    Provide thought leadership to how projects should be structured and executed 


Manage Total cost of ownership
•    Using a common model and methodology to assess the total cost of ownership (TCO) for each solution area partner with finance and other GS teams to calculate the TCO of key solutions 
•    Assess the TCO vs business value and look for opportunities to improve  (feed into roadmaps)  


•    Responsible for establishing strong relationships with critical business and functional partners
•    Form and lead cross functional teams to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach  
•    Education and advice to key business partners on technology trends and opportunities 

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

8+ years related experience and/or training
