Summary

The Director of Compensation and Mobility plays a strategic role in developing and managing compensation and mobility programs across all countries in which Simplot operates to attract, retain, and motivate employees while ensuring alignment with the organization's overall business objectives. Working closely with the business and the Total Rewards team this role involves overseeing various aspects of compensation, and employee mobility ensuring compliance with appropriate laws including tax, immigration, and general employment laws across all jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and market trends.
  • Ensure competitive, equitable, and fair compensation practices.
  • Design and manage incentive programs, including bonuses, and performance-based awards.
  • Ensure incentive programs drive employee performance and support organizational goals.
  • Conduct regular market analysis and salary surveys to determine competitive salary ranges.
  • Develop and maintain a structured salary scale and compensation guidelines.
  • Manage the day-to-day operational requirements of the compensation team for both fixed and variable pay needs.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations related to compensation and mobility across all jurisdictions in partnership with tax and legal teams (internal & external).
  • Generate and analyze reports on compensation and mobility data for decision-making and compliance purposes.
  • Utilize data analytics to assess the effectiveness of compensation and mobility programs.
  • Benchmark the organization's compensation and mobility practices against industry standards.
  • Provide insight to the business on different compensation strategies that may be applied across the organization with a long-term view adapting to the various provisions across the globe.
  • Provide leadership and governance across our sales organizations to ensure day to day operations are in line with legal requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate methodology and modelling is applied to ensure in line with Simplot objectives.
  • Oversee global mobility programs, including expatriate assignments, immigration compliance, and relocation services.
  • Develop policies and procedures to facilitate employee mobility while managing costs effectively.
  • Provide a framework for communicating compensation principles and changes to managers to effectively communicate and provide guidance on compensation.
  • Offer training and education on compensation and mobility topics to HR staff and leadership.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Required Certifications

  • World at Work or CEBs Certification in Compensation or Total Rewards
  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-SCP, HRCI) is a plus.

Relevant Experience

  • 10+ years related experience and/or training
  • Extensive experience in compensation and benefits management, including at least 5-7 years in a leadership role. 
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align compensation and mobility practices with organizational goals.
