Summary

As a Global Accounting Optimization Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the accounting automation and optimization of our organization. You will be responsible for working with key stakeholders to implement strategies to optimize financial systems and processes thru standardization and advanced technology.  Primarily utilizing the Company’s Blackline platform but also to include generative AI, machine learning and robotics process automation, as well as other technologies.  This role requires a strong background in accounting processes, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, with a specific focus on technology, project management, and change management.  We need an individual that is well organized and can drive for results.

Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement:

  • Oversee and manager a team to standardize disparate processes, facilitating automation activities.
  • Lead the team in leveraging Blackline, or other accounting system support software, to support the organizational transition from legacy systems to SAP S/4 Hana.
  • Guide the team in using process automation tools and data-driven insights to assess current accounting processes, identifying and driving efficiencies.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives with the team, using technology-driven solutions to streamline accounting operations.
  • Utilize project management methodologies to plan, execute, and oversee accounting optimization projects, ensuring team alignment and progress.
  • Develop project plans, set objectives, manage resources, and monitor project progress, while leading and mentoring the team to achieve goals.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate effectively with various departments, leveraging data analytics and technical skills to drive financial optimization initiatives.
  • Communicate complex financial insights and recommendations to both accounting and non-finance stakeholders using clear and data-driven presentations.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, IT or related field (PMP or CPA certifications are a plus)

Relevant Experience

  • 5+ years related experience and/or training
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, automation, and process improvement with a strong emphasis on technical skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, reporting systems and/or financial systems (e.g., SAP, Excel, Blackline, Power BI, Power Automate, SAP Analytics Cloud).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance or ability to research financial regulations and compliance documentation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail, with a track record of successfully managing projects.
  • Experience in change management and the ability to lead teams through change initiatives.
  • Prior experience in a managerial or leadership role is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
