Summary

The Director of Customer & Sales Service is responsible for leading a team in providing exceptional service to Food Group’s domestic customers and the internal sales team.  This role provides the strategic direction to the Customer & Sales Service team by setting the vision, direction, and culture. This role will be responsible for delivery of departmental results by successful direction of customer service managers and their staff. This role will ensure high levels of customer and sales satisfaction by working across functional boundaries to drive process improvements, implement technological solutions, and attain productivity targets in alignment with business strategies. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop team of Customer Service Managers and team members and ensure the highest results and potential by the team is achieved. 
  • Empower the Customer Service Managers as they direct all day-to-day functions among the teams to ensure effective, quality service delivery to internal / external customers.
  • Assist the Sr. Director in the development of business and talent strategies.
  • Drive innovative thought-leadership and partner with executives & cross-functional leadership teams.
  • Lead the development of short, medium, and long-term plans to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Continually evaluate, update, and improve the customer service function to respond to changing needs of the organization, new products, new business, individual initiatives, and other activities that make a positive impact.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, operations, and other internal departments, including international teams, to ensure a synchronized optimal customer experience, including providing innovative solutions.
  • Attract, train, develop and motivate team members to foster their professional development and growth through results-oriented focus, clear communication and direction, delegation and active career development and coaching.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

8+ years related experience and/or training

Required Certifications

Other Information

  • 8+ years previous experience in the customer service industry
  • 5+ years’ experience developing and leading a high-performing team  
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience leading multiple managers/supervisors is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce Service Cloud is a plus
