Director-Kraft Heinz Account

The Account Director assures coordination and integration of the Kraft Heinz Ore Ida business with the core Simplot Business Processes of S&OP, Operations, Logistics, Technical Services, New Product Development, Finance, and Legal.  This role leads, coordinates and facilitates information flow between Simplot and Kraft Heinz Corporate across business functions and serves as the primary point of contact with the account.  The position ultimately is responsible for managing and delivering to the expectations of the customer while delivering the internal budgeted financial performance. The person in this role will preferably sit at our headquarters in Boise, ID, but there may be availability to sit at our location in Caldwell, ID.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial/Budget: Will be responsible for the overall financial budget and will monitor compliance to the negotiated long-term supply agreement between Simplot and Kraft Heinz. Implement systems and processes to ensure profitable margins on all products. Communicate financial learning to team members to improve performance. Plan, analyze, and track Departmental budget including cost savings derived in the production process and shared with the customer. Work closely with and advise finance and accounting partner assigned to the Business Unit.
  • Sales: Serves as the point of contact / primary liaison to Kraft Heinz corporate utilizing the supply agreement as a guiding principle.  Negotiate wins for both sides understanding the risks and opportunities associated with key decisions while working within the parameters of the negotiated agreements.     
  • Project Management/Technical: Work closely with Simplot technical, operations, quality systems, research & innovation, and internal portfolio commercialization teams to deliver value to the customer and Simplot.  Work to optimize resources to drive to desired outcomes. 
  • Sales and Operations Integration: Work with Kraft Heinz Demand Planning to understand Annual Planning Commitments for volume.  Work internally with Simplot Production Planning & Inventory Control to ensure timely delivery of product and monitor penalties for under performance relative to the four-week firm order forecast.  Monitor/track New Product introduction, status, and results. Track and report priority core product changes and new product development/introduction. Implement administrative processes, systems, and guidelines that are efficient and consistent within the Global Food Group and Simplot Corporate Departments.
  • Legal: Responsible for negotiation of existing contracts, along with ensuring that Simplot complies with the negotiated Supply Agreement as well as the Joint Product Development Agreement.   

Typical Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university required; 10+ years related experience


Relevant Experience

  • Strong business and financial acumen, analytical capability, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build collaborate relationships and influence without authority
  • Proficient in sales and corporate account management
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Programs
  • Analytical skills and ability to use complex data to identify insights, trends, business opportunities and customer solutions
  • Strong general business acumen with accountability for P&L 
  • Successful track record in Account Management
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time

• Several years’ experience in Food or related FMCG industry
• Experience in Sales Management
• Experience dealing at the senior Management level within an organization
• Proven leadership of a team
• Demonstrated ability to develop cross-functional relationships
• Demonstrated experience and proven record of achievement in business within the retail sector
