Summary

Coordinates product order and delivery to internal and external customers. Acts as customer contact regarding orders, scheduling, and shipping. Responds to inquiries through phone, mail, email and/or face-to-face contacts with customers and prospects about the company's products or services. Uses a computer system to track questions and answers as well as enter orders. Responsible for development of relationships with truck carriers, warehouses and customer both internal and external. Responsible for stock transfers and warehouse inventory reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for interfacing with production planning, scheduling, deployment, transportation and warehouse personnel to ensure inventory availability to meet current and projected sales needs. Responsible for inventory reconciliation for assigned warehouses.
  • Reconciles product and freight invoices and approves for payment. Provides Accounting department with a monthly list of freight bills accrued for payment. May invoice customers or dealers directly and track receipt of payments.
  • Receives, coordinates, and processes orders from customers, brokers, and sales or area managers for shipments from manufacturing plants, warehouses and exchange locations.
  • Answers product and distribution inquiries from brokers and customers. Provides communication link between sales and distribution to facilitate prompt response. Promotes electronic processing whenever possible.
  • Basic negotiation skills required to ensure timely and lowest cost delivery of products to our customers, both internal and external.
  • Identify, track and resolve customer shipment and distribution related problems.
Typical Education

Associate's Degree (A.A. or equivalent)

Relevant Experience

1+ years related experience and/or training

This is an entry level position requiring a basic knowledge of customer service and distribution. Requires basic knowledge of company ERP and Microsoft Office Suite. Skills: Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, planning and organizational skills, basic computer skills (spreadsheets, word processing, database, etc.) and basic math skills. Resolves routine questions and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher levels. Tasks and duties are standardized. Requires basic negotiation skills as well as the ability to multi-task.
