Customer Marketing Manager, Non-Commercial

Summary

We are looking for a Customer Marketing Manager to join our team and drive strategic growth in focus Non-Commercial foodservice segments.  The Non-Commercial channel includes feeding establishments on-site at facilities where the primary purpose is something other than feeding (i.e. hospitals, nursing homes, schools, military, airports, etc.)  The foodservice operation may be run by a hired contract feeder company or may be independently run by the company that houses the foodservice operation.

 

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the execution of marketing plans that support Simplot’s business objectives and enhances the relationship between Simplot and our current and prospective Non-Commercial customers.  In this role, the Marketing Manager will be the interface between Product Marketing and Sales in delivering creative and effective marketing solutions that are focused on customer needs and create Simplot brand advocates.  You will also partner closely with Marketing Operations, Sales Planning, Culinary and Training to drive cross-functional project execution that accurately captures company and customer priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for executing strategic marketing plans and managing tactics that support Simplot’s go-to-market strategy
  • Deep understanding of Non-Commercial segments, including trends, challenges & opportunities, and translate into actionable, high impact marketing tactics
  • Utilize CRM and 3rd party market insights to create data-driven marketing solutions
  • Approach work holistically with a solid understanding of product, portfolio, profitability and priorities
  • Successfully collaborate and lead cross-functional projects that support the marketing strategy
  • Constant pursuit of ways to enhance the relationship between Simplot and Non-Commercial customers
  • Provide marketing resources that sales can leverage and/or customize for their customers and prospects
  • Know the customer journey and the key touchpoints where you can impact customer experiences
  • Partner with Sales Planning to identify high impact customer marketing opportunities
  • Incorporate Account Based Marketing into marketing plans with strategic omni-channel execution
  • Manage relevant segment/industry memberships and conference/tradeshow planning & execution
  • Evaluate marketing plan performance and recommend improvements
  • Track and measure initiatives to determine effectiveness and the ROI of customer marketing efforts
  • Provide direction to outside creative agencies and work closely to develop content and marketing collateral

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field from 4-year college or university required

Relevant Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience, foodservice marketing experience preferred
  • Ability to travel 20% of time including travel to conferences, customer meetings and facilities in North America
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing principles and strategy development
  • Proven business acumen skills and ability to understand P&L financials and apply to marketing strategies
  • Working knowledge of marketing automation as part of Account Based Marketing preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and manage unexpected customer demands
  • Exceptional multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid project management skills and demonstrated ability to manage large projects across boundaries
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs

  • Manage assigned annual marketing budget for maximum return on investment
  • Conduct market visits to drive alignment with strategy strengthen customer knowledge & relationships
